KL University launched the first phase of "Skill Palaver", a hands-on, project-based learning initiative under its Skill Development Division. Targeted at B.Tech, BCA, and MCA students, the program integrates hackathons into academics, focusing on professional electives and industry-relevant skill courses.

Phase 1, named "Learnathon", was held from the evening of August 2 to August 3, 2025, drawing participation from 1,650 pre-final year students. Students worked in teams on real-world problem statements across four tracks: AI and ML, Cloud Computing, Virtual Instrumentation, and Multiphysics Simulation.

Mentorship was provided by leading industry experts, including G. Anil Kumar (Cisco), P. Thathammadora (IBM), G. Naga Sai Ram (Ansys), and Anish (Adya Skills), who shared insights on real-world use cases and solution strategies.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. A. Srinath, Dean, Skill Development, KL University, said, “Skill Palaver is a transformative platform that fosters self-directed learning, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving abilities. It prepares students to be industry-ready well before graduation.”

The initiative was led by Dr. T. Rama Krishna Rao, Principal, College of Engineering, with support from department heads and SPOCs across various streams. The Learnathon featured overnight sessions and early-morning presentations, highlighting students’ creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

The program is supported by Vice Chancellor Dr. G.P.S. Varma and Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. Venkatram and Dr. K. Rajasekhara Rao. The next two phases – "Virtual Review" and "Hackathon & Open House" - are scheduled later this month. This highlights KL University’s commitment to industry-integrated education and future-ready talent development, strengthening its position as one of the top universities in South India.
